Last week, the Australian Federal Government announced the number of international students starting at Australian universities and vocational training providers will be capped at 270,000 from next year. This means that, pending the passage of legislation before the Parliament, there will be a limit for new international student commencements during the 2025 calendar year. Warm regards, National Planning Level (NPL) and New Overseas Student Commencements (NOSC)The Australian Government has recently announced the National Planning Level (NPL) for the international education sector. This means that, pending the passage of legislation before the Parliament, there will be a limit for new international student commencements during the 2025 calendar year. The limit is set on 270,000 new overseas student commencements (NOSC) for all providers, with 145,000 allocated for the public universities. It is anticipated that the 145,000 NOSC for the public universities is similar to student commencing numbers experienced in 2023.
