麦考瑞大学 新课程 Bachelor of Criminology

麦考瑞大学 新课程 Bachelor of Criminology     ------Original------ From: Macquarie University Date: 2024年08月05日 14:00 Subject: Macquarie University Partner Update Dear AA, Our campus has once again been bristling with life as we welcome back our students for the commencement or return of their studies for the second half of the year.  As our students settle back into the rhythm, our staff have been busy collaborating and ramping up for our upcoming on campus Open Day before turning attention to finishing off the year strongly. Our collective efforts will be crucial in navigating through the remainder of this year's opportunities and challenges. We are also excited about our new course offerings for 2025, which include the updated Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Social Sciences, our new Bachelor of Criminology as well as our completely revamped suite of bachelor of education degrees - all of which you will hear more about in the coming months.  Additionally, this month is also about the Olympics, and I am delighted to let you know that a few of our href="https://macquarieinternational.cmail19.com/t/r-l-tdtjlydy-niuuijukly-h/">Macquarie University staff, students and alumni  are proudly representing their country at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. As always, our team is here to assist you in any way we can. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your Country Manager.  Warm regards,Lee-ann NorrisPro Vice-Chancellor, Future StudentsMacquarie University     COURSE HIGHLIGHT Bachelor of Criminology **NEW IN 2025** Macquarie University's Department of Security Studies and Criminology is one of Australia’s leading academic centres of teaching and research in applied security studies and criminology. New in 2025 - our Bachelor of Criminology is being introduced to meet the demand for the hundreds and hundreds of students who take first year criminology units in other degrees here at the University.  Criminology is a rich, interdisciplinary field that weaves together specialties across the social sciences, law, politics and psychology. It’s an exciting and dynamic profession that’s ever-changing due to the way modern societies – and the criminals within – constantly evolve.  The degree will empower students to think innovatively and ethically when addressing the persistent challenges of crime, whether you choose to pursue further education, engage in research or enter the workforce. Find out more     HUMANS OF MQ  Meet Enzo Shen President of Macquarie’s Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) As President of Macquarie’s Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA), Enzo Shen cherishes the chance to be a bridge between two different cultures – and smash a few stereotypes along the way. "I come from a small coastal city in the Guangdong Province of China called Chaozhou. I first came to Australia ten years ago as a tourist and what struck me most was how peaceful Australian life was compared to China."  "We do a lot of work in the CSSA to try to break down cultural barriers. We just held a Chinese Cultural Day on campus, and we’re planning workshops to help Chinese students better understand Australian culture and improve their English. And domestic students can also learn Mandarin if they want to. Cultural understanding always comes from people spending time together. But sometimes they need a little nudge." "The language barrier can make it hard for Chinese students to make friends with domestic students, even though they really want to." "There’s a perception that we’re all rich kids from very wealthy families. But most Chinese students – and their families – work incredibly hard to support their overseas study." "The degree I’m studying towards, early childhood education, is not a typical choice for a Chinese student – or a male student for that matter. But I’m lucky that my parents are open-minded. I wanted to be a teacher because I want to support and grow future generations. Early childhood is such a critical period in a person’s life."
