Entry Requirements and Applications Processing Times

We are excited to announce that we've made significant changes to our entry requirements and admissions processes, with the aim to improve your and the students experience when applying to Kingston University.

Such changes have already had a positive impact on our application processing times, with reduced turnaround times across all areas, thus making our courses more accessible to a broader range of students.

Online Pre-sessional Courses 

Our Pre-sessional courses are designed for international students who want to improve their English language skills and familiarise themselves with studying at university before starting studies at Kingston or another university.

There are four lengths of Pre-sessional English courses. Your International English Language Test score (IELTS) will determine which length you should apply for.

All Summer 2024 pre-sessional courses will be online. Please see our website for more details for dates and how to apply.

International Scholarships for September 2024

We are offering a small number of scholarships for newly enrolled undergraduate and postgraduate Kingston University students worth £5,000 towards the first year of study only. We are looking for enthusiastic champions who can represent Kingston and support us with our recruitment and marketing work. Please refer to the link below for eligibility criteria.

Applications open March 2024

Please note that our scholarships are very competitive, and we receive many applications every year. Students need to have an offer for a course starting in September 2024 before they can apply.

This year we have partnered with the British Council to offer two GREAT scholarships for students from Thailand and Indonesia who have applied for a postgraduate course at Kingston. Applications are open now. Please see our website for details.

Important Reminder regarding Making Payments

We wish to remind you once again that the University does not accept bank transfers.

To make payments:

• Using UK-issued cards, pay through our online payment portal 

• Using international cards, pay through Convera portal (Western Union has now been rebranded as Convera).

• Setting up a recurring card payment (RCP)

Immigration Updates

As UKVI are moving towards a digital immigration system, physical documents (e.g. BRP, BRC, vignette stickers) are being replaced by an online record called eVisa, which will make travelling to the UK safer, quicker and easier. More updates will be shared as they become available in the coming months.

The Home Office has made some changes to the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS), as follows:

• For Student route applications, and Student route dependant applications, made on or after 6 February 2024, the IHS fee will be £776 per applicant, per year of permission applied for.

• For Graduate route applications, and Graduate route dependant applications, made on or after 6 February 2024, the IHS fee will be £1035 per applicant, per year of permission applied for.
