Live Chat Takeover for Arriving Students

Please encourage students starting their courses in January and February to book their place at our Live Chat Takeover.

As the university has been closed over Christmas we're aware arriving students may have queries related to enrolment, payments, accommodation and more.

Therefore, we’re hosting a Live Chat Takeover from 8-12th January (9am – 5pm GMT), giving students the opportunity to connect directly and live with University of Gloucestershire’s international, immigration, finance, student life, accommodation and careers teams.

September 2024 Recruitment

We are open for applications for September 2024 entry. All courses featured on our website are available - please check below for some recent course closures.

Applications must be uploaded via the agent portal. If you experience access denial you may need to have your account access updated. To do this please contact international@glos.ac.uk

Course Closures

With the aim of creating a stronger portfolio that focuses on courses with greater potential to grow well, and to deliver an excellent student experience, the university has made the decision to close the following courses. These courses will no longer accept applications:

Flexible Payment Plans

We're pleased to inform you that we will be introducing a more flexible fee payment plan as of September 2024, which we hope will facilitate enrolment for all our international students.

While the advance tuition fee payment remains at £5,500 and must be paid prior to making a CAS application to the university, the number of fee instalments of the remaining balance will be increased and spread over a longer period. The new payment plan comprises of 4 fee instalments (rather than 2) as follows:

• 40% of the remaining balance after the advance tuition fee payment - to be paid at enrolment in September

• 20% of the remaining balance after the advance tuition fee payment - to be paid in November

• 20% of the remaining balance after the advance tuition fee payment - to be paid in January

• 20% of the remaining balance after the advance tuition fee payment - to be paid in February

Graduation Celebrations

We're very proud of our students who successfully graduated at the end of last year. You can watch and share some video footage of our celebrating students here.

One of our international students from Syria, Mohammed Hady Taresh, who was awarded the university’s Michael Perham Sanctuary Scholarship after seeking asylum in the UK, achieved a first-class degree in Cyber Security.

After some significant challenges, while studying for his master’s degree, Mohammed represented the University at the National Cyber Security Innovators Challenge 2023 in London and was appointed to the Cyber Runaway programme for 24 budding cyber entrepreneurs.

He was also interviewed live on television by Sky News Arabia and Al Mashhad News to provide expert comment on developments within the cyber security industry.

Pakistan Visit

In February 2024, our PVC, Dr. Matthew Andrews, and our Regional Manager, Mr. Wajid Ali, will travel to Pakistan. Hosting agent conferences, visiting local universities, and attending DAWN Education Expo and meetings with our partner agents and government officials are the main goals of their trip.

In recognition of the achievements of our best-performing agents, in collaboration with InUni, the university will host agent conferences in Islamabad and Lahore.

Pakistan has grown in importance to us as a market, and the university is eager to strengthen its ties with significant players in this market. We're optimistic that the PVC's visit will enable us to accomplish these objectives.

Growing Our Global Reach

University of Gloucestershire’s growing global reach has been highlighted by its first appearance in the latest QS World University Rankings: Sustainability and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

The University was ranked in the top 300 in the world in the Environmental Sustainability category, which assesses strategy and operations towards an environmentally sustainable future.

Dr Matthew Andrews, Pro Vice-Chancellor and the University’s lead for internationalisation, said: “Our inclusion for the first time in both the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability and Times Higher Education World University Rankings is an excellent sign of the progress we are making in developing our international reach and global reputation.

“We’re delighted that the steps we’re taking...have been recognised with our top-300 position for Environmental Sustainability in the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability, alongside being among the top 1,000 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
