Dear Valued Partners, As you may be aware, the Australian Federal Government has just announced changes (effective immediately) to the way the Department of Home Affairs will process International Student Visa applications to Australia. Ministerial Direction 107 has been revoked (18 December 2025) and replaced by Ministerial Direction 111. The new Ministerial Direction 111 will see student visa applications processed in two priority categories (Priority 1 – High) and Priority 2 (Standard Priority). Priority 1 – High will move faster through processing relative to Priority 2 - Standard. All Curtin University Perth Student Visa Applications for Semester 1 2025 will be processed as Priority 1 – High Details of Ministerial Direction 111 can be found here on the Australian Government, Department of Home Affairs website. To ensure a smooth transition for your students looking to study with Curtin University in Semester 1 2025, we encourage students to accept their offer as soon as possible, and to submit their Visa application as soon as they have received their Certificate of Enrolment (COE).
