Global Curtin Notice
Dear Valued Partners,
Curtin is aligning our Genuine student (GS, previously known as GTE) processes to be in line withDepartment of Home Affairs’ genuine student requirements.
We had recently organized an agent training on the changes that Global Curtin Compliance have initiated to meet the expectations of the Department of Home Affairs and we would like to thank each of you for attending the presentation. We will be uploading the presentation in the agent portal to ensure your staff are able to watch the video.
When will the changes take place?
The changes will take place from Monday 13 May 2024 for all applications (including pending for further documentation).
What are the changes?
DevelopedGenuine Student webpagewhich you can find all updated information on Curtin’s Genuine Student requirements.
Removal of Genuine Student Assessment Form (GSAF) at application stage.
Introduction of theAssessment of Genuine Intention Form (AGIF)as part of Letter of Offer condition. The AGIF form will require evidence to support each claims made.
Applicants may be required to meetfinancial capacity requirementas part of their condition on the Letter of Offer.
Applicants may be required to undertake interviews as part of their condition on the Letter of Offer.
Student with recent Australian visa refusals (within 12 months from date of application) will not be eligible to apply to Perth campus and will be redirected to other Global campuses.
English package offers will be limited to no more than 10 weeks for certain high-risk countries.
Restriction on acceptable banks loans from Nepal. Only the following banks will be acceptable:
oMega Bank
oNepal SBI Bank Limited
oNabil Bank Limited
oEverest Bank
oSanima Bank
oGlobal IME Bank Limited
oLaxmi Sunrise Bank
oSiddhartha Bank
oNepal Merchant Bank (NMB)
oRastriya Banijya Bank
Onshore applicants from the following visa category will need to apply for student visa from offshore except for the following criteria
Currently holds Student visa (subclass 500) or Working holiday visa (subclass 417)
Note: onshore ad hoc applications can be considered as long as the applicant is able to show course or career progression.
