Global Curtin NoticeDear Valued Partners,  Curtin is aligning our Genuine student (GS, previously known as GTE) processes to be in line with Department of Home Affairs’ genuine student requirements. We had recently organized an agent training on the changes that Global Curtin Compliance have initiated to meet the expectations of the Department of Home Affairs and we would like to thank each of you for attending the presentation. We will be uploading the presentation in the agent portal to ensure your staff are able to watch the video.  When will the changes take place? The changes will take place from Monday 13 May 2024 for all applications (including pending for further documentation).  What are the changes? Developed Genuine Student webpage which you can find all updated information on Curtin’s Genuine Student requirements.  Removal of Genuine Student Assessment Form (GSAF) at application stage. Introduction of the Assessment of Genuine Intention Form (AGIF) as part of Letter of Offer condition. The AGIF form will require evidence to support each claims made.  Applicants may be required to meet financial capacity requirement as part of their condition on the Letter of Offer. Applicants may be required to undertake interviews as part of their condition on the Letter of Offer.  Student with recent Australian visa refusals (within 12 months from date of application) will not be eligible to apply to Perth campus and will be redirected to other Global campuses.  English package offers will be limited to no more than 10 weeks for certain high-risk countries. Restriction on acceptable banks loans from Nepal. Global Curtin NoticeAustralian Department of Home Affairs Update – Replacement of Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) to Genuine StudentsDear Valued Partners,As you might be aware that The Government has replaced the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement for student visas with a Genuine Student (GS) requirement for all countries. This is effective for student visa applications lodged on and after 23 March 2024. Curtin would like to remind all agents to ensure your students are completing the visa application according to Department of Home Affairs (DHA) Genuine Student requirements. Please visit DHA website to find out more information on the changes. Below are the top-level requirements by DHA hence we would recommend you to check their website to ensure that you are providing appropriate documentation to ensure the visa application is successful:All applicants must demonstrate that they satisfy the genuine student criterion or the genuine student dependent criterion.In the online student visa application form, DHA will ask the applicant the below questions to address the GS criteria. Give details of the applicant’s current circumstances. This includes ties to family, community, employment, and economic circumstances. Explain why the applicant wishes to study this course in Australia with this particular education provider. This must also explain their understanding of the requirements of the intended course and studying and living in Australia.Explain how completing the course will be of benefit to the applicant.Give details of any other relevant information the applicant would like to include.Please note that all answers must be written in English, with a maximum of 150 words per question.There is an additional question for those applicants who have previously held a student visa or those who are lodging an application in Australia from a non-student visa.Along with the responses included in the application form, the applicant must attach supporting documents to their ImmiAccount.Generic statements unsupported by evidence are not given significant weight in the GS assessment. We ask that you encourage students to respond to these deferred offers as soon as possible to secure a place in their course.   New CoEs will be issued as students complete the acceptance of offer process for their deferred offers.   Some deferred offers may include additional GTE requirements, so we ask that students review their offer letters carefully to ensure they meet any additional offer conditions and/or perform any required assessment processes.   Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.   With best wishes to you   Kind regards   Global Curtin Team
