MeetAlireza Tadibi | CEAS PhD Class of 2027Where are you from?My family is from the west side of Iran, a city called Kermanshah, which is mountainous and most of the people are Kurdish. However, I was born and raised in Isfahan which is close to the middle of Iran and hot and dry. What is your research at CEAS? My research is in mechanical vibrations, specifically in structural dynamics and structural health monitoring. We use a dense grid measurement using laser line projected over a plate-like structure and scan the plate in a line-by-line manner. It is a fully non-contact experiment in terms of both excitation and data capture, which is also through a projected laser. This avoids unwanted mass loading and surface preparation and maintains flexibility. What are you excited for in the future? I will be presenting at an upcoming conference with the Society of Experimental Mechanics about my work on non-contact photogrammetry-based damage detection for plate-like structures. Sincerely,International Recruitment and Outreach
