For the first time, Adelaide University participated in the Australian International Education Conference (AIEC) to showcase its bold vision for transformational teaching, learning, research and innovation. In conversation with Professor Stan Grant, Adelaide University’s co–Vice Chancellor, Professor David Lloyd, and newly appointed Deputy Vice Chancellor International & External Engagement, Professor Jessica Gallagher, provided guests with an insight into the creation of Adelaide University.
The Adelaide University booth was a standout at the conference, showcasing the new branding. Adelaide University has a bold ambition to create Australia's most contemporary and future–focused teaching and learning experience. The way this will be achieved is through The Adelaide Attainment Model. This unique model of delivery will include universal common core courses so that students across the institution will be able to select courses that will help them build highly transferrable skills valued by employers. These focused knowledge areas include:
> Artificial Intelligence: Exploring the fundamental principles, techniques and real–world applications of AI.
> Data Knowledges: Learning about the different data types, sources and structures to best practice collecting, managing and analysing data, and strategies for evaluating and communicating insights.
> Entrepreneurship and Design Thinking: Developing the tools and mindset to identify opportunities, develop sustainable solutions, and drive positive change.
> Ethical Knowledges: Exploring the fundamental principles of moral reasoning and how it applies to real-world situations.
> Cultural Competency: Building cross–cultural communication skills and a deeper understanding of cultural backgrounds and how this shapes experiences.
> First Nations Knowledges: Applying Aboriginal ways of knowing into modern learning.
