University of Aberdeen International Study Centre (ISC) will be discontinuing its Undergraduate Foundation Programme in Life Sciences – Pathway to Medicine from September 2024 and onwards. This means that our last intake for this pathway programme was in September 2023.

How does this affect current students?

International Study Centre students currently studying on the Undergraduate Foundation Programme in Life Sciences - Pathway to Medicine (September 2023 cohort) are not affected by this change. Students will continue to study on the programme with full opportunities to complete their current pathway course and follow the highly comprehensive selection process to gain a place on to the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) at the University of Aberdeen - subject to meeting the criteria as outlinedhere.

If current students who are not made an offer to study on the MBChB following the competitive selection process, they will be able to progress to their second-choice degree in the area ofLife Sciences(subject to achieving the required grades).

The experience and success of students is always our top priority. We continue to work closely together with the University of Aberdeen’s Medical School, to ensure that students currently studying on the Pathway to Medicine at the ISC continue to receive the best teaching and learning experience to successfully progress to a degree study.

Applicants & prospective students for the Pathway to Medicine (September 2024 and onwards):

As of today, Study Group have ceased issuing offers to prospective students on the Pathway to Medicine.

For any current offer holders and confirmed students for September 2024 and onwards, we offer the following options:

  • University of Aberdeen International Study Centre: Consider alternative options within the Undergraduate Foundation Programme in Life Sciences, leading to Biological Sciences, Biology, Biomedical Sciences degree programmes at the University of Aberdeen.Download the flyer to find out more

  • Study Group Foundation: Consider alternative study options within Study Group. Study Group will work in consultation with you to offer: (i) a suitable alternative within the existing Study Group portfolio (subject to meeting the admission requirements for that programme) or (ii) you may be entitled to a refund of any advance payments students have made for the Pathway to Medicine programme.
