This course focuses on providing you with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in this important area of surveying. It combines both property valuation and management knowledge with skills in planning and regeneration to allow you to gain a full perspective not only on the physical aspects of the built environment, but the social and environmental aspects as well. It is designed for students from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, who wish to specialise in this growing area. The MSc Real Estate Planning and Development typically includes a field trip to London where students meet major industry players to observe and examine how London’s commercial real estate markets operate. This work is linked to our module on Real Estate Economics. The field trip generally takes place in November, in the run up to the deadlines for job applications to the major industry employers and we meet industry professionals and find out more about what it is like to work for them.
